Intervention Orders
An intervention order, sometimes referred to as a restraining order, limits or prohibits a person from acting in certain ways towards other parties. Police have the power to issue an interim order, which will require you to attend court to determine if the order should be amended, extended or revoked.
If you breach an intervention order, the maximum penalty is 2 years imprisonment. If you are ordered to attend an intervention programme and do not the maximum penalty is a fine of $1250.
